rain leak in 3000 express I have a rain leak in my 1999 3000 express. Water runs forward from behind the galley refrigerator and from under the cabinet below the sink. Resuting in water on, and forward of the wood cabin sole. Pursuit thinks possible leak from the port engine air intake, allowing water forward instead of going out the through hull...anyone experience this problem?
Thanks, Ken |

Re: rain leak in 3000 express Ken - I, too, am experiencing the same leak in my 2001 3000 Express. After much searching, replacing the port windscreen rubber gasket, finding there were substantial gaps in sealant under the rub rail on the port side and correcting, rebedding the port side railing, ripping out the water soaked carpet and basically pulling what little hair I have remaining out, I still have a small leak from rain. Not as much water as before, but still enough to not replace the carpet. I even get water under the forward berth. I haven't attempted further fixes because the weather has been so lousy here on the Cape. Maybe someone else has it figured out. Don't think Pursuit knows the answer. Let me know if you've had any luck since your last posting.

Regards,

Dave

Re: rain leak in 3000 express Dave,
The leak is fixed....coming in at the bottom of the windshield on the port side. sealed the screws that hold the frame to the deck. Remove the rubber strip and take the screws out to fill with silicone, and replace the screws. Ken |

Re: rain leak in 3000 express Have you heard any more on the rain leak. I also have the same problem with water in the cabin. I thought I had it solved when I found the airconditioner drained into the bilge. I'll drain that into the sump under the step. I can't see where the rain leaks into the cabin which means it has to be behind the shower stall. If it were any place else in the cabin I'd see it. I've caulked the windshield and don't see any place where the rub rail or hand rail could be leaking. It is a puzzlement!!

Thanks, Dutch
