The Portage County Sheriffs Department will offer a boating safety course on April 26th, 28th and May 3rd. The classes will run from 4-7 p.m. at the Portage County Sheriff Department, 1500 Strongs Avenue in Stevens Point. The course is $10 and is open to boat operators 10 years of age and older. All boat operators born on or after Jan. 1, 1989 are required to take a boater safety class.
